September 6th* Added preview pictures and concept stuff.
This may seem confusing to some, but I decided to add all the species that I know people have made characters of and put it in a giant poll.
It's simple.
Pick TEN of the animals listed that can be the first ten heads and tails. I only say ten.. because it's really hard to have to redo the skeletons and export like 3429882947322 animations. >>
Plus there aren't a lot of slots in Blender's layers. It makes it easier on me if I have it numbered down, and easier on the server master so you don't make 50 MB worth of characters. : D
Part II
Manes. Tufts. What do you want of those? Remember, there are currently 25 total manes, and 11 tufts! Here's my vision:
○ The manes belonging to the tribe members are made. More slots are opened up as more members request a style. It's like a virtual hair salon!
○ I will cap off the member manes at 25. The remaining 25 will be the original manes included with the basic IT server. 50 mane possibilities total, have fun at the character creation screen. |D
○ I am capping off tufts at 25. Those can be very difficult to mesh and create, since I have to rig every vertex to the proper bone so it doesn't look like a giant mutated glitch when you sit down. Tuft requests will be from reference.
So here's how it could possibly go.
○ I will create a 'Salon' thread. There will be a pre-made form to submit your styles via a picture, drawing, etc. One per person (staff may be allowed multiple).
○ Tufts that can be made from the mane will be created along with the hairstyle.
○ After the manes are made, their UVs will be posted up on yet another thread which contains a preset creation tutorial and can be downloaded separately from my stash. Preview images of the manes and tufts will stay strictly in the salon.
○ Mesh parts can be assigned by the server master. I may make some manes event-only, and the winner gets the special mane, tail, head, body, etc. applied to their character of choice.
I want to know what you guys think of my ideas. Vote, brainstorm, and comment below! ^-^
I think the biggest question is whether or not you want teeth instead of flat planes. Remember, your smile will not be like that of a human smile. It will be a toothy, dark jowled part of the mouth. Animals cannot always have cartoonish appearances in games, I would need two separate teeth meshes in one head and a new bone added to the ton of bones already around the mouth.

*Note: The overdone eyelashes are only placeholders, I have to open this in Blender 2.63 so I can further sculpt their shape. It has been seamed, joined, and masked.
Ears not built on so they can be animated easier.
Teeth will be skinned versions of the ones already included in magix1.blend. I'm going to use the already made tongue as well. The skeleton will need to be torn apart. Total: 6,296 (?)
The non-polyreduced body, front paws still needing to be sculpted. That's the lower back, camera placed behind it. IT LOOKS REALLY FAT STRETCHED LIKE THIS WHOA. Total: 40,778
