Soooo went over to my friends house this weekend and we worked on cosplay for A-kon. We still have a long way to go, not done with Nepeta cosplay yet, and I have to start on my vocaloid one soon. They aren't done with any of theirs either, even though we worked really hard yesterday e-e.
Coat
We went shopping around at different thrift shops, trying on different coats, trying to kind a white one that we could dye green. We were also looking for one that went down to me feet. After about 30 minutes of walking through the store we found a tan one, and we went ahead and bought it for $7, though we were worried the dye wouldn't turn out right.
After we screwed around at Hobby Lobby for about an hour, we got our green dye and went home. Boiled some water, put the green dye in, then had to stir the tan coat in for 15 minutes. Afterwards we had to rinse it with cold water then put it through the washer and dryer and I think it came out really nice.
(I took these pictures with my Ipod, so they suck. But I really think it came out the perfect shade)
Hat
I have no idea how to work the sewing machine, so my friends mother did the hat. We bought a yard of blue fabric from Hobby Lobby and somehow she made a hat with it. We used buttons for the eyes, and she used string for the nose. I don't think this is the hat we will use, she said she's going to make another one since she thinks the nose is a little small, and we're debating on adding the little flaps on the side. We molded the horns yesterday, but they have to dry for 5 days before we can paint them. I believe we'll be cutting holes into the hat for the horns.
Shirt
Pretty simple. Bought a black shirt, printed off the symbol, cut it out and taped the outline to the shirt, then used a sponge to dab on the green paint.
(Ugh The shirt doesn't look black and the paint doesn't look green. SCREW YOU CAMERA)
Tail
Used the blue fabric again, and cut 2 long rectangle strips and sewed them together leaving an opening, where we stuffed in this really white fluffy stuff, and it makes the tail stiff so you can bend it into any shape you want. Then we sewed on this little ribbon that you tie to a belt loop. We had to cut a hole through the coat so the tail sticks out.
What's left to do
Worries
K This is my first con, and they keep telling me that you are going to get lots of people asking to take your pictures and ask for hugs.
AHAHAHAH.
I don't like hugs from strangers ;^;
AND WHAT ABOUT THE EQUIUS COSPLAYERS
I have to hug all them.

What's left to do
- Paint the horns and cut the hole in the hat for them
- Get the black fingerless gloves
- Buy some fluffy blue slippers/house shoes
- Find some grey pants
- Get the paint or makeup for the skin color
- Get a wig
